ACCESSIBILITY INFO BELOW:

  • Event is free and includes catered lunch

  • All portions of the event are at Eastside Cultural Center, a street-level space that is wheelchair-accessible, including restrooms and front door

  • A trained community safety team is in place for the event, with emphasis on verbal de-escalation. The safety team is led by trans people of color

  • Though we can't guarantee a fragrance-free space, we're asking attendees to come fragrance-free. An air purifier will be on throughout the event. The venue uses scented restrooms soaps that we remove and dispensers we tape up so people don't use them. We bring fragrance-free soaps. We will detox the space with vinegar and baking soda as best we can on the morning of the event

  • There are two restrooms. Both are gendered outside of the event and will be gender-neutral for the event, with signs taped on the doors the morning of the event

  • The ceiling lighting is fluorescent; the stage lighting is not

  • We are livestreaming the panels but not the lunchtime networking time

  • One of our panelists will be participating by Zoom

  • Potential EMF exposure includes wifi and attendees' cell phones and laptops

  • Blue spot parking has been removed temporarily due to construction. With advance notice (by 4/1) we can hold a street parking spot as close as possible to the event space (likely 500-1000 feet from the main entrance)

  • There is free parking on 23rd Avenue between International Blvd. and E. 12th St. and on E. 12th St. Please check street signs for quirky restrictions

  • Eastside is 1 mile from Fruitvale BART and is 1/2 block to 1 block from three AC Transit lines. Check transit.511.org for schedules

  • There is a low-stimulation quiet room 1/2 block from Eastside for folks who need that. The space is fragrance-free and has couches, air purifier, a gender-neutral restroom, and is trans femme of color -centered

  • Please send any requests for ASL, Spanish, or other language interpreters; for live open/closed captioning; or other translation and interpretation, by 4/1

  • Please send requests for childcare by 4/1

  • We don't have printed-out materials planned. Some materials will be emailed after the event

  • We will ask participants not to use flash photography
