4-month Paid Trans Peer Advocacy Training

It's on!

This Spring 2017, Peacock Rebellion's been running a 4-month Paid Peer Advocacy Training Program with support from Bloom: Transgender Community Healing Project, Transgender Law Center, the Fund for Trans Generations, the Third Wave Fund's Mobilize Power Fund, the Resist Foundation, and awesome individual donors. Centering trans femmes of color, the program's training 20 trans folks on the front-lines to build a culture of safety and legal knowledge in our communities. The crew is grounded in trans liberation frameworks and is building with their cohort for collective power. After completing the training program, the team will be able to serve as peer-advocates to help peers with ID document change, and in safely navigating encounters with law enforcement, medical professionals, gatekeepers, and other transphobic and xenophobic situations.
