Openpgp Resources From The February 22 Hack Night
We shared a bunch of OpenPGP encryption resources with each other at Hack Night tonight; here's a list!
This Email Self-Defense guide from the Free Software Foundation is an excellent primer to help you understand and get started with OpenPGP encryption. It also includes a guide to setting up your own workshops to teach your friends how to use OpenPGP!
If you need to transition from your current or old key to a new or longer key, check out this detailed guide from Ekaia (Ana Guerrero.) You can also check out this public announcement that Jack posted when they transitioned from an old key to a new one (and the template they based it on.)
This OpenPGP Best Practices document from Riseup is very heavy on tech speak, but if you can wade through that it's got a lot of useful info!
Here's another great list of OpenPGP resources from the Social Source Commons Blog by Aspiration. Some of the links overlap with the ones here, some don't!
Have questions? Want hands on help getting OpenPGP set up on your laptop? Stop by Hack Night, Mondays from 7:30-9:30pm at LOL Makerspace, for security drop-in questions for activists and organizers, and we'll help you get started!
